Wohl ignites Findlay past Rogers

FINDLAY 66, ROGERS 54

FINDLAY Findlay defeated Rogers 66-54 last night in boys basketball with some good freethrow shooting by Jesse Wohl, who scored 22 points including 12 of 13 at the foul line.

Luke Kraus scored 18 points and Nathan Reinhart added 13 points for the Trojans.

Joe Landry led Rogers with 22 points. Lee Tabb also added 10 points for the Rams.

ARCHBOLD 44, WAUSEON 42

ARCHBOLD Josh Wyse, who had 19 points, hit two free throws with 6.6 seconds left to lift Archbold. Gene Goering added 12 for the Blue Streaks.

Chris Villalovos had 16 for Wauseon which rallied in the fourth quarter by outscoring Archbold 12-4.

SCOTT 110, CLEVELAND MLK 39

Chris Wyse scored 33 points as Scott rolled at home.

Justin Quinn had 16 points and Milo Warren had 12 points for the Bulldogs. Irmon Young tallied 11 points and Kenny Hairston had 10.

Jamal Allen led Cleveland Martin Luther King with 13 points.

CLAY 66, ANTHONY WAYNE 60

A.J. Achter scored 21 points and Zac Taylor had 20 to lead the visiting Eagles to a win.

Drew Kuns tallied 12 and Jordan Kovacs 10 for Clay, which trailed 45-44 entering the fourth quarter.

Andrew Rile led Anthony Wayne with 22 points. Kyle Jazwiecki added 13.

WHITMER 78, SOUTHVIEW 72

David Sweeney led Whitmer with 27 points in a 78-72 victory over host Southview last night in boys basketball.

Antwan Willis added 13 points and Ryan Smith had 12 for the Panthers.

Tim Hausfeld tallied 29 for the Cougars. Shaun Joplin added 16.

START 52, CLEVELAND RHODES 49

Robert Lonas scored 17 points as Start held on at home.

Juan Hamilton also added 11 points and Chris Wilson grabbed 12 rebounds for the Spartans.

Rayshawn Goins scored 17 points to lead Cleveland Rhodes. Regis Whitson also added 10.

EVERGREEN 61, NORTH CENTRAL 39

METAMORA Brock Bates scored 15 points and Nick Weissenberger had 13 for Evergreen, which led 15-0 after the first quarter. Corey Truckor added 12.

Craig Kidston paced North Central with 20.

OTTAWA HILLS 59, EDON 43

EDON Andrew Wolff tallied 24 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter, to lead Ottawa Hills. Brent Abendroth added 10.

Adam Becker led Edon with 14. Dustin Chaffee had 13.

WAITE 67, FREMONT ROSS 59

Waite held off a late surge from the visiting Little Giants.

Riley Khari scored a game-high 20 points and Meredith Brent and Hakeem Muhammad helped out with 16 and 10 points, respectively. Both Khari and Brent grabbed eight rebounds apiece for the Indians (2-0).

Ross (0-2) was led by Cory Clayton, Kirt Munson and Ryan Croudup, who scored 14, 13 and 12 points, respectively.

SWANTON 50, OTSEGO 36

TONTOGANY Swanton took advantage of a slow start by Otsego.

The Bulldogs Josh Rodes led all scorers with 18 points. Brad Betts added 14 points and Mike Montin scored 10 points.

Tyler Nye and Seth Childers led Otsego with nine points apiece.

CENTRAL CATHOLIC 83, NORTHVIEW 71

Sam Bastian paced visiting Central Catholic with 23 points. Ray Calhoun scored 17, Bruce Huntley 13 and Cory Lehman 12.

Brian Koehl led Northview with 25 points, while Derek Andrzejczak scored 16. Matt Wade added 11 and Mike Schaffer 10.

PETTISVILLE 52, DELTA 34

PETTISVILLE Alex Nafziger s 19 points paced the victory for Pettisville. Logan Frey added 10.

Tyson Andrews led Delta with 12.

MILLER CITY 70, NORTH BALTIMORE 59

MILLER CITY Andy Hermiller scored 30 points to lead Miller City. Phil Erford added 10.

Nick Brossia tallied 29 for North Baltimore, while Cory Herr finished with 11.

BOWSHER 41, SPRINGFIELD 31

Bowsher used a huge fourth quarter to open its season with a victory.

Justin Warnes made three 3-pointers and finished with 12 points for the Rebels.

Austin Koback led the way for Springfield with 13 points.

Bowsher was 12 of 22 from the free-throw line, while Springfield (0-1) was 4 of 5.

ROSSFORD 61, LAKE 44

MILLBURY Kevin Duly made three 3-pointers in the third quarter as Rossford exploded to break open the game.

Duly finished with 15 points and Logan Nichols scored 16 for Rossford (1-0).

Lake was led by Adam Ashman, who scored 17 points, and Mike Curry, who added 10.

Lake won the battle of the boards 44-37 but made 27 turnovers.

FAIRVIEW 60, HILLTOP 23

SHERWOOD Ross Joost led Fairview with 10 points as all 12 Apaches scored.

Jeremy Hartman tallied 10 for Hilltop.

TINORA 42, LIBERTY CENTER 22

LIBERTY CENTER Tinora held Liberty Center scoreless until two minutes were left in the first half, jumping out to a 25-0 lead.

Layne Schroeder led the Rams with 15 poins. Michael Harris added 10.

Danny Irving scored 12 for the Tigers.

EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN 73, MONCLOVA CHRISTIAN 41

Eric Myers and Seth Flamm scored 14 points each for Emmanuel Christian.

Tony Herrera led Monclova Christian with 18. David Haas added 12.
