Upper Sandusky gets 31 from Diebler

SHELBY - Upper Sandusky recovered from a 20-11 start to squeak by Shelby 76-72 last night in boys basketball.

The Rams rebounded with a 22-10 second quarter to get back in the game.

Upper Sandusky's Jon Diebler scored 31 points on

11-of-35 field goal attempts and added 15 rebounds. Travis Bachtell added 19 points.

Matt Sommer scored 28 and Parker Grove 20 for the Whippets.

GALION - The balanced Redmen got 17 points from Jaron Stanton, 14 from Chase Munoz, 13 from Micah Hyde and 10 from Wes Downing.

Kevin Murphy netted 26 for Galion.

FREMONT - Kelsey Williams popped in 25 points and Martel Brown 11 for Sandusky. Ryan Ottney scored 13 and Cory Clayton and Paul Hershey 11 apiece for winless Fremont Ross.

PORT CLINTON - Jason Cellier dropped in 29 points and pulled down six rebounds and Sean Elswick added 18 points and six steals for the Redskins. Tom Laderach had 10 for the Rockets.

LEIPSIC - The Pilots bolted to a 38-13 halftime lead and rolled. Jason Nicely registered 16 points and 9 rebounds and James Martin scored 14. Phile Niese had 11 for Leipsic.

PETTISVILLE - Nathan Schmidt dumped in 29 points for Continental while Jared Rohrer-Meck had 17 and Alex Nafziger 14 for the Blackbirds.

FINDLAY - Luke Kraus scored 22 points for Findlay. Mac Cloud scored 17 and Tyler Birchmeier added 11 for the Trojans. Wes Hesterman scored 13 points, Lee Hunter 11, and Joel Hunter 10 for Napoleon.

FAYETTE - Joe Baker tallied 25 points for the Tigers, while James Henry had 10 for the Eagles.

TIFFIN - Troy Keller hit a jumper in the lane with 20 seconds remaining and then blocked a shot at the other end of the floor to lead Tiffin Calvert to victory. Keller scored 14 points and Austin Mass added 18 for the Senecas. Tim Luchini scored 15 for the Mohawks.

NEW RIEGEL - Dustin Kinn dropped in 12 points for the Blue Jackets, while the Tigers got 19 points from Nick Brossia, 11 from Luke Wymer and 10 from Cory Herr. New Riegel won the battle of the boards 29-16.

BETTSVILLE - The Chieftains coasted as Tyler Brown tallied 23, Chris Krupp 18 and Heath Brickner 12. Troy Blausey had 16 and Andrew Sumi 10 for the Bobcats.

TIFFIN - Kyle Smith netted 21 points for the winning Truckers, while Anthony Brown scored 12 and Ethan Kagy 10 for the Tornadoes.

HICKSVILLE 47, EDON 34

ANTWERP - Kendra Katschke tallied 13 points and Lauren Jones 12 for the Aces in the opening round of the Route 49 Classic. Makayla Graves topped the Bombers with seven points.

ANTWERP - Allyson Winebar's nine points set the pace for the Bulldogs in the Route 49 Classic. Kelsi Bashore and Bryn Schlatter had 10 apiece for the Archers.
