The St. Ursula tennis team advanced to the semifinals of the Ohio Tennis Coaches Association Division I team tournament with a 3-2 victory over Notre Dame at Jermain Park yesterday.
The Arrows, ranked 13th in the final state coaches poll, won all three singles matches to beat Notre Dame, which was ranked sixth. Maddy Eccleston won first singles for St. Ursula, while Morgan Bechtel and Alexa Davis won second and third singles.
St. Ursula will play in the OTCA state semifinals Sunday at 9 a.m. The other three semifinalists are Rocky River Magnificat, the top-ranked team in the state; Dublin Jerome, which is ranked third, and Dayton Chaminade-Julienne, which is ranked fifth.
