Big third quarter helps Start top Canton GlenOak

CANTON - The Start girls basketball team outscored Canton GlenOak 13-5 in the third quarter as the Spartans claimed a 48-40 victory last night.

T.T. Arnold and Yolanda Richardson combined for nine points in the quarter as Start improved to 9-1.

Richardson and Maleeka Kynard led the Spartans with 12 points apiece, and Arnold added nine.

Sarah Monnet was the only GlenOak player to finish in double figures with 11.



KANSAS - The Wildcats led by 12 points entering the final quarter, then outscored the host Raiders 12-1 to pull away.

Kaylee Paul scored 13 points and Kristen Jacobs added 10 for Woodmore, which improved to 2-8 overall and 2-4 in the Suburban Lakes League.

Hannah Podach and Karen Jenne each had six points to lead Lakota (0-9, 0-6).
