Whitmer slips by Southview 51-49

Ryne Smith knocked down a 3-point shot from the right wing as time expired to give Whitmer a 51-49 victory over Southview last night in boys basketball.

The game had five lead changes in the fourth quarter.

Antwan Willis led the Panthers (11-2) with 23 points and 13 rebounds, with 11 of his points coming in the final quarter.

Derrick Creque scored 14 points, all in the second half, for Southview (10-3).

ST. FRANCIS 46,

WORTHINGTON KILBOURNE 40

Kevin Henry scored 28 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter as St. Francis rallied at home.

The Knights (8-5) outscored Kilbourne 30-12 in the second half. Kyle Lundquist led Kilbourne (6-7) with 11.

BOWSHER 69, NORTHVIEW 57

Justin Warnes scored 24 to lead visiting Bowsher. Nathan Pompili added 15, Anthony Davis 14 and Thomas Mays 11.

Mike Schaffer led the Wildcats with 18. J.T. Bowens added 14.

Matt Collins popped in 20 points for the Irish (9-4).

Bo Mathias registered 15 for visiting Elida (4-10).

Otteraeus Waller led the scoring parade for Start (7-5) with 18 points. Devin Russell added 17, Anthony Henderson 16 and Dwain Golladay 11.

Derrick Spencer had 13 and Sheldon Smiley 12 for East (4-11).

CANTON - William Buford registered a triple-double as the Cowboys (12-1) rolled over McKinley (3-11).

Buford's 21 points were complemented by 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Teammate Lance Jones also had a triple-double: 10 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. Tony Brown contributed 12 points for Libbey.

McKinley was paced by Terrell Lipkins' 15 points.

Kevin Sheehy and Patrick Hohenberger led Stritch with 15 and 12 points, respectively.

Tyler Brown led Hopewell-Loudon with nine.

Clay's Zac Taylor and Andrew Kuns paced the Eagles (5-7) with 13 and 11 points.

DELTA - Tyler Lieber led the Blue Devils with 24. Chester McFadded added 21. Zach Culbertson and Austin Koback added 11 each.

Nate Parsons paced Delta with 17. Korbin Smith had 14, Aaron Betz 12 and Eric Vaughan 11.

TIFFIN - Matt Phillips knocked in 22 points for Calvert (11-3). Chris Baney, Logan Grant and Ray Wolfe each had 12.

MILAN - Edison's Chris Baldwin hit the game-winning shot with three seconds left.

Matt Koelsch paced Edison with 12 and Baldwin had 11.

Jarrod Cox had 13 and Ryan Hicks 12 for the Redskins.

Dorian Phillips scored 14 to lead Woodward (2-11). Brandon Underwood tallied 11. Dionte McClendon and Robert Oliver added 10 each.

DAYTON - Shawn Robinson scored 26 points and Juwan Staten 25 for Marshall.

Waite was led by Khari Riley with 22. Robert Jackson added 13, Darius Glover 11 and

GENOA - Kyle Schimming scored 17 points as the Comets (11-2) held off the Bulldogs

(9-3).

Justin Lau and Ben Sutter (12 rebounds) added 12 each for

Genoa and Derrick Vicars had 11.

Swanton got 22 from Brad Betz and 21 from Chad Lewis.

MILLER CITY - Kyle Niese led Miller City (6-8) with 11 points.
