Toledo Christian gets by Edon 17-14

Toledo Christian defeated Edon 17-14 last night in TAAC play at Central Catholic.

Christian Sidle scored Edon's (2-5, 2-2) first touchdown on a four-yard run.

Alex Sonneberger rushed 10 times for 77 yards and the other Bomber touchdown, a 12-yard run.

Graham Miller led Toledo Christian (4-3, 2-1) on the ground with 32 carries for 103 yards, and the game-winning touchdown on a one-yard rush.

Grant Sims caught a 13-yard touchdown from Nick Rightnowar. J.C. Miller added a 25-yard field goal to give the Eagles a 10-7 lead at halftime.

WEST UNITY Hilltop led 41-0 at the half and coasted home, and now owns a 5-2 record, 3-1 in the league.

Chad Beals gained 148 yards on 13 carries and scored four touchdowns on runs of 4 and 6 yards and on passes from Josh Westfall of 22 and 30 yards.

Ottawa Hills got a pair of TD passes from Jimmy Zimmerman 27 yards to J.J. Buckey and 76 to Kenny Greene.

Greene also scored for the Bears (1-6, 1-2) on a 46-yard punt return.

Nasri Hajjar scored for Ottawa Hills on a one-yard run and gained 87 yards on 18 carries.

The Green Bears were out-gained in total yardage 449 to 260 and suffered six turnovers.

Hilltop connected on 10 of 15 passes for 143 yards while OH hit 4 of 19 for 129 yards.

Justin Grindle ran for two touchdowns, made a tackle in the end zone for a Rangers' safety and ran for a two-point conversion for 16 of Northwood's points against Danbury.

Northwood (6-1, 3-0) also got two TDs from Nate James on short runs, plus TDs from Zach Bermejo, Alex Williams and Kyle Gunn.

George Viedenbach ran for 151 yards for Danbury (0-7, 0-4) and scored a TD.
