COLUMBUS The Ottawa Hills soccer team became the first team from northwest Ohio to claim a state soccer title with its 1-0 victory over Worthington Christian in the Division III state title game at Crew Stadium on Friday.
The Green Bears got a goal from Sam Kuehnle off a half-volley from 30 yards off to account for the only scoring in the contest, which was played in a steady rain.
The Green Bears are 20-3 this season, while Worthington Christian, which was ranked second in the state in the final poll, is 18-4-1.
