Eli hits 25 points as Genoa tops Otsego

TONTOGANY - Simone Eli scored 25 points as Genoa edged Otsego 57-55 last night in Suburban Lakes League play.

After a 36-36 halftime tie, Otsego entered the fourth quarter leading by nine but was 5-of-17 from the line in the fourth quarter. The Knights were 8-of-9 in the first threee quarters.

Julie Swartzmiller added 10 points for the Comets (3-0, 1-0).

Baley Bernthisel led the Knights (1-2, 0-1) with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Ashley Holzwart scored 15 points and Kara Dickey 10 for Otsego.

Gibsonburg 56, Eastwood 44

GIBSONBURG - Katie Jones scored 22 points to carry Gibsonburg.

Emily Clark added 15 points as the Golden Bears made 19-of-30 free throws and outscored Eastwood 33-13 in the second half.

Brooke Gottfried led Eastwood with 16 points. The Eagles were 17-of-25 from the charity stripe.

Elmwood 32, Lakota 27

BLOOMDALE - Emily Reynolds scored 16 points to pace Elmwood. Amy Gashe led Lakota with 12.

Lake 61, Woodmore 29

MILLBURY - The Flyers had 11 players score, led by Jessica Abbey's 12, Rebekah Will's 11 and Lauren Lind's 10.

Kaylee Paul led Woodmore with eight.
