Beans gets 28 points, 11 boards for Bears

Phillip Beans scored 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Ottawa Hills to an 80-50 TAAC boys victory over Emmanuel Christian Friday night.

But it wasn't as easy as the final score might indicate for the visiting Bears (13-2, 8-1).

Emmanuel (3-17, 1-11) led 12-10 after one quarter and was within 29-18 at the half.

Eliot Browarsky added 16 points and Kevin Nugent had 15 for Ottawa Hills, which outrebounded Emmanuel 28-14.

Stephen Behan scored 17, Julius Turner 16 and Tony Behan 10 for Emmanuel.

Northwood 45, Maumee Valley 41

Ryan Canaday poured in 28 points to lead Northwood (6-11, 3-6).

The Rangers trailed Maumee Valley by four after three quarters, but surged by the Hawks 18-10 in the fourth quarter.

Carter Bayer dropped in 22 points for Maumee Valley (3-11, 1-7).

Toledo Christian 84, Danbury 39

DANBURY - Ethan Michael scored 23 points to lead the Eagles past the Lakers.

Grant Sims finished with 16 points and Cory Brittenham chipped in 11 for first-place

Toledo Christian (10-6, 9-1).

Michael Hamann scored 13 points to lead Danbury (11-6, 6-4).
