Scott blanks Woodward

Scott scored 16 points in the second quarter and rolled to a 24-0 City League football win at Woodward Saturday.

The Bulldogs scored in all three phases of the game in that second-period blitz. The offense had an 18-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Korey Cook to Branden Pyles, while the defense got an 28-yard interception return for a TD by Tion Thompson.

On special teams, Scott blocked a punt in the end zone for a safety.

The Bulldogs tacked on eight points in the third period when Brian Jackson tackled the Woodward quarterback in the end zone for another safety, and Na'eem Triplett scored on a one-yard plunge.

Alex Handley had 103 yards rushing on six carries for Scott (2-6 , 2-3 CL).

The Bulldogs held Woodward (0-7, 0-4) to just 153 yards of total offense.
