Waite suffers first loss

SOUTH EUCLID -- South Euclid Regina made 10 free throws in the fourth quarter to pull out a 56-47 victory over Waite in girls basketball last night.

The Indians made nine 3-pointers but could not overcome Regina's 18-6 edge at the free-throw line.

Natasha Howard led Waite (9-1) with 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Nirra Fields had 18 points and Taylor Mingo 17 for the defending Division III state champion Royals (8-2).

LIBBEY 56, DAYTON DUNBAR 43

Macketta Allen scored 18 points to lead Libbey (3-8). Shantell Haynes had 12 points and Tia Frazier 10.

Kenyona Simmons scored 28 for Dayton Dunbar.

OTTAWA HILLS 49, PATRICK HENRY 38

HAMLER - Lauren Abendroth had 16 points and Katherine Jamieson 15 for the Green Bears (9-1).

Tiffany Ehlers scored 17 for the Patriots (6-3).

GENOA 52, LAKOTA 28

GENOA - Alyssa Meis scored 16 points to lead the Comets (9-1). Julie Swartzmiller had 14 and Jessica Feller 10.

Amy Gosche finished with 16 points for Lakota.

SANDUSKY PERKINS 41, OAK HARBOR 34

OAK HARBOR - Jordan Fraley scored 10 points to lead the Pirates.

Sara Lipstraw had 11 points for the Rockets.

McCOMB 58, CAREY 45

McCOMB - Jackie Leppelmeier had 13 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Panthers. Hannah Bundy scored 16 and Shelby Wilson 12 for McComb (5-5).

Lauren Jacoby finished with 13 points and Leah Ritter 12 for Carey (6-4).

OTSEGO 55,

LIBERTY CENTER 42

LIBERTY CENTER - Katelyn Downing scored 20 points to pace the Knights (6-4), while Baley Bernthisel added 12.

Megan Spieth and Kaitlann Hogrefe each had eight points for the Tigers (4-9).

MONCLOVA CHRISTIAN 34, GRAND LAKE CHRISTIAN 30

Ashley Dibert scored 12 points to lead Monclova Christian (4-3) at home. Siyora Shiranova had 13 rebounds.

Sarah Wolf scored 11 to lead Grand Lake.

WHITEFORD 55,

EMMANUEL CHRISTIAN 14

Taylor Kiefer paced Whiteford with 14. Caitlin Granata had 11.

Lexie Weaver led Emmanuel Christian with eight.

DANBURY 47,

ST. JOSEPH 33

LAKESIDE - Christine Longer scored 13 points to lead the Lakers (6-3).

Taylor Flick led Fremont St. Joseph (4-5) with 11.
