Start rolls past Rogers

Jeff Copeland scored 34 points and Anthony Henderson tallied 33 to pace Start to a 95-81 victory over Rogers Friday night in City League boys basketball.

The Spartans held a 27-7 advantage at the free-throw line.

DeMond Crisp added 12 points for the Spartans (9-7, 5-4 CL).

Quincy Caldwell led the Rams (11-5, 6-3) with 30 points, while Damond Powell added 20.

Nigel Hayes and Ken Hayes pumped in 13 points apiece to lead the Panthers.

Darion Jones added 10 points for Whitmer (12-3, 7-2 CL), which made 26 of 43 free throws.

Austin Achter led Clay (3-12, 1-8 CL) with 10 points.

The Eagles were 18 of 32 at the free-throw line.

The Indians led by just 13-11 after one quarter but outscored the home team 18-8 in the second to pull away.

Antonio Allen scored 12 points and Dishon Harris 10 for Waite

(8-8, 4-5 CL).

Ray Hooker finished with 14 to lead the Polar Bears (2-12, 0-9 CL).

The Irish jumped to an 18-5 lead after one quarter and cruised to the home victory.

Tony Mays scored 15 points to lead Central Catholic (13-2, 7-2).

Robert Davis finished with 20 points for the Rebels (6-8, 3-6).
