Alexander's shot lifts Devils over Eastwood

Leroy Alexander hit a shot at the buzzer and lifted Springfield to 53-51 home victory last night over Eastwood in boys basketball.

Chester McFadden topped the 1,000-point mark for his career.

McFadden, a junior forward, scored 13 points for the Blue Devils (13-4) to push his career point total to 1,004.

Alexander finished with 14 points, while Quinton Green added 10.

Clay Rolf scored 20 to lead the Eagles (12-5). Jon Juergens had 17.

BOWLING GREEN 59, PICKERINGTON CENTRAL 48

BOWLING GREEN -- Chauncey Orr poured in 30 points to lead the Bobcats (12-5). Xavier Brown added 12 points.

Taco Charlton had 11 for the Tigers (9-7).

Perrysburg 67, Otsego 38

TONTOGANY-- Charlie Hughes had 14 points for the Yellow Jackets (17-1). Matt Marquette, Kevin Schenk and Karter Sell all scored 10.

Ryan Smoyer topped Otsego (9-7) with 11.

WHITMER 59, SOUTHVIEW 43

Kenny Hayes scored 17 points and Nigel Hayes had 14 points and 10 rebounds for the host Panthers (13-3). Dareon Jones added 11 points.

Allen Gant led the Cougars (11-7) with 13 points. Andy Borcherdt had 10.

OTTAWA-GLANDORF 63,

OTTAWA - The host Titans got 19 points from Travis Schomaeker and 10 from Josh Johnson.

Matt Wisler had 18 points and Braxton Snavely 14 for Bryan (8-8).

DELTA 62, NORTH CENTRAL 54

DELTA - Delta's Jordan Turner and North Central's Derrick Wyrick each scored 30 points.

Nate Jackson added 10 points for Delta (12-5).

EDGERTON 57,

EDGERTON - Nathan Stark led the Bulldogs with 14 points.

Liberty Center was led by Phil Snow's 14 and Jake Elling's 11.

FREMONT ST. JOSEPH 54,

FREMONT - Garret Walker hit a 3-pointer as time expired to lift Fremont St. Joseph (9-7). Brant Reardon scored 14 points and Mike Fox 10.

Gage Beaber and Lee Renner each had 15 points for Gibsonburg (6-9).

NAPOLEON - Shawn Dyer scored 24, Marvin Owens 14, and Shaqville Smith 11 for Marion Harding.

Fulton Lankenau had 18, Jordan Lauf 17, and Jordan Myles 13 for Napoleon (7-10)

ELMWOOD 53, LAKOTA 43

BLOOMDALE -- T.J. Waldock had 15 points and Adam Tyson 14 for the Royals (9-7). Scott Hoffman had 17 for the Raiders.

Fremont Ross 45

PORT CLINTON - Josh Francis led the way with 25 points, while Ryan Hicks added 19 and Allen Tigner 13 for the 17-0 Redskins.

Fremont Ross was paced by Shunnar Gamble's 11 points.

EVERGREEN 71,

FAYETTE - Chad Mossing scored 19 points and Lucas Pennington had 18 to lead the Vikings (15-3) to an overtime win.

Trevor Cox led the Eagles (8-1) with 23 points, while Darrell Randall had 12 and Tyler Keefer added 10 points and 10 rebounds.

HOLGATE - Shane Bostelman scored 10 points to lead the Patriots (4-12).

Ross Clady finished with 10 points to pace Holgate (5-13).

PETTISVILLE 58,

PETTISVILLE - Zane Miller

had 13 points as the Blackbirds won in overtime.

Jacob Rupp had 11 and Zach Pursel 10 for Pettisville (8-9).
