Area boys: Pettisville, Edon share BBC
PIONEER - Pettisville won its eighth straight Buckeye Border Conference boys basketball championship with a 63-59 overtime win last night over North Central.
Jacob Rupp scored 27 points and Taylor Short added 16 to lead the Blackbirds (11-9, 6-4) to a share of the BBC title with Edon.
Derick Wyrick had 20 points to lead North Central (9-10, 5-5), while Ryan Masters had 13 and Austin Douglass 10.
FAYETTE - The Bombers claimed a share of the Buckeye Border Conference title.
Ryan Wells had 16 points for Edon (10-10, 6-4) and Tyler Wells had 11.
Tyler Keefer scored 15 for Fayette (8-12, 3-7) and Jason Rodriguez had 12.
FREMONT - Shunnar Gamble scored 17 points, and Jake Hiestand and Nick Streaker followed with 13 and 10, respectively for the Little Giants (4-16).
Napoleon (7-12) was led by Jordan Myles' nine points.
OTTAWA LAKE - Jake DuPree tallied 24 points to pace Whiteford.
Brandon Albright added 16, Chris Roberts 15, and Travis Pant 11 for the Bobcats (14-5). Forrest Grosteffon pulled down 11 rebounds.
Clayton Wolf had 18 points for Morenci. Luke Craig added 13.
HARTVILLE, Ohio — Jordan McCloud scored 19 points to help Monclova Christian defeat Liberty Christian 76-56 and reach the Association of Christian Schools International state final.
Cody Harris 18, Kenny D'Douba and Zach Black each added 15 for the Thunder (16-6).
Monclova Christian will face Emmanuel Christian in the final.
