Lightning stalls AW-Springfield softball game

A Northern Lakes League softball showdown between Anthony Wayne and Springfield was suspended because of lightning Monday.

The Blue Devils (12-5 overall, 5-3 NLL) had rallied to take an 8-5 lead in the top of the seventh inning when a storm blew in. Anthony Wayne (18-1, 7-1) had led 4-0 and had a 5-4 edge entering the seventh inning.

The game will start where it left off when the teams meet again which is tentatively set for May 10 at Springfield. The teams will complete a make-up game that day as well.
