Whitmer able to hold off Clay

Findlay's Gettys gets 1,000th career point

Three Rivers Area Athletic Conference

Whitmer 59, Clay 52

The Panthers had to battle hard on senior night to maintain a share of the lead in the Three Rivers Athletic Conference boys basketball standings.

The only quarter host Whitmer outscored the Eagles was the second, but it was a decisive 15-4 edge. This came after Clay led 13-10 after the first quarter.

LeRoy Alexander led the Panthers (15-2, 9-2 TRAC) with 14 points. Luke Hickey and Chris Wormley added 10 points apiece.

Ross Achter and Jack Nagy each scored 12 points for Clay (5-12, 2-9). Derek Belkofer chipped in with 10.

Central Catholic 67, Lima Senior 43

LIMA -- Danielle Turner scored 14 points and Cliff Bussey had 13 as the Irish (14-3, 9-2) stayed tied for first in the TRAC.

Deontae Cole and Keith Towbridge had 10 points each for Central Catholic.

Devon Allen led the Spartans (3-13, 2-9) with 11 points. Jerry Hutchinson and Isiah Stinson each had 10.

St. John's 61, St. Francis 46

Marc Loving poured in 32 points as the Titans stayed in a first-place tie.

The Titans used a 20-9 third quarter to pull away. Austin Gardner had 11 for St. John's (12-5, 9-2).

Cam White led St. Francis (1-14, 1-10) with 18 points.

Findlay 68, Fremont Ross 58

FINDLAY -- The Trojans' C.J. Gettys scored 28 points to surpass 1,000 points in his career.

Michael Clark had 15 points and Boston Ballmer 11 for Findlay (11-5, 7-4).

The Little Giants (8-8, 5-6) were led by Diante Pettiford's 16 points. Nick Strecker added 12 points and Jay Carnicom 11.

City League

Woodward 68, Waite 63

Jalen Wells scored 23 points Friday night as the host Polar Bears ended a 52-game losing streak in City League boys basketball.

The last victory by Woodward in a CL game was 79-58 win over Whitmer on Feb. 16, 2007.

Derek Ramsey had 14 points and 12 rebounds for Woodward (3-13, 1-9 CL). Mike Gary added 12.

Waite's Travon Howard hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 57 with three seconds left in regulation.

Eric McNair led the Indians (2-15, 1-9) with 18, while DeVonte Hughes had 13, and Howard chipped in 11.

Bowsher 88, Start 81

Mookie Mustafaa had 11 of his game-leading 28 points in the second quarter as the Rebels outscored Start 21-12 in the period.

Kharri Dailey sparked Bowsher (13-5, 7-3) in the second half and finished with 17 points. Eric Hopkins added 10 and Nate Allen 13.

Demond Crisp led Start (10-6, 5-5) with 25 points, Scott Hicks had 20, and Dion Avery 18.

Toledo Area Athletic Conference

Ottawa Hills 48, Toledo Christian 39

Ottawa Hills made 10 of 14 free throws in overtime to take a Toledo Area Athletic Conference boys basketball road victory.

Iain Trickey has six of his 16 points in OT for the Green Bears (8-8, 6-5). Geoffrey Beans added 13.

Eric Cellier led the Eagles (9-6, 7-4) with 16 points; Dominique Pittman tossed in 10.

TC led 18-17 at halftime and OH led 27-23 at the end of the third quarter. The Eagles rallied to tie it at 34 at the end of regulation.

Maumee Valley 62, Emmanuel Christian 37

The Hawks got off to an 11-7 start, extended their lead to 23-10 by halftime, and cruised.

Julius Turner had 18 points for Maumee Valley (15-1, 10-1 TAAC), with Jared Sturt adding 16.

Ryan Creech had 15 for Emmanuel Christian (8-9, 5-6) and Jason Regnier had 13.

Cardinal Stritch 61, Danbury 47

Austin Adams led the Cardinals (7-9, 4-7 TAAC) with 19. Marquise Harrison added 13, and Michael Blazevich 10.

Caleb Helline scored 18 and Dalton Chapman had 13 for Danbury (0-16, 6-11).

Gibsonburg 71, Northwood 45

Dylan Dorfmeyer led the Golden Bears (13-3, 9-2) with 19 points. Andrew Cantrell added 12.

Tyler Williams paced the Rangers (4-13, 3-8) with 11. Evan Perkins added 10.

Northwest Ohio Athletic League

Bryan 44, Evergreen 42

METAMORA -- A last second-shot at the buzzer by the Vikings missed as the Golden Bears hung on to win Friday night in Northwest Ohio Athletic Conference boys basketball.

Austin Schimmoeller had 15 points to lead Bryan (7-10, 4-4 NWOAL), while Adam McBride had 12.

Evergreen (4-12, 2-4) was led by Clayton Wielinski's 14 points. Cory Mossing had 13.

Wauseon 45, Patrick Henry 37

HAMLER -- Alex Wooten scored 16 points, Collin Bzovi had 13, and Jordan Stickley added 11 for the Indians (14-2, 6-1).

Kodi Nofziger had 11 points for Patriots (9-7, 4-3).

Liberty Center 44, Montpelier 31

MONTPELIER -- Caleb Pohlman scored 13 points and Konnor Pohlman had 12 to pace the Tigers (2-14, 2-8).

T.J. Reeder had 13 for the Locomotives (3-14, 0-7).

Northern Lakes League

Napoleon 63, Southview 57

Jordan Lauf poured in 24 points Friday night as the Wildcats clinched at least a share of the Northern Lakes League boys basketball championship.

Jordan Myles had 18 for visiting Napoleon (13-3, 12-1 NLL), which held a 41-32 halftime edge, then held off the Cougars' third-quarter rally.

Brandon Sinram and Allen Gant each had 15 points for Southview (6-11, 4-8). Chris Johnson scored 11 and Joey Vermilya 10.

Northview 58, Perrysburg 55

Adam Downing scored 15 points to lead the host Wildcats to the upset victory.

Jeff Czerniakowski and Conner Hartnett each had 12 points for Northview (5-12, 3-9).

Shane Edwards tallied 20 points for the Yellow Jackets (10-6, 8-4).

Northview led 25-15 and 40-33 at the end of the third quarter. But Perrysburg went up 43-42 with four minutes left in the game before Downing hit two 3-pointers.

Anthony Wayne 37, Maumee 33

Mark Donnal scored 14 points and Matt Fox added 11 for the visiting Generals (14-4, 9-3).

Sean Flanagan had 19 and Jason Wanamaker chipped in 11 for the Panthers (7-10, 5-7).

The Panthers led 14-12 at halftime, before the Generals rallied to a 22-20 advantage after three quarters.

Bowling Green 92, Springfield 58

BOWLING GREEN -- The Bobcats cruised to victory, headed by Vitto Brown's 21 points.

Tyler Dunn added 18, Andrew Herringshaw 17 and Lamonte Stone 13 for Bowling Green (9-9, 7-5).

Logan Weimer topped the Blue Devils (1-11, 4-14).

Area boys

Liberty-Benton 60, Arcadia 35

ARCADIA — Adam Cytlak scored 16 points, Rob Rucki had 15, and Mitch Lambert 13 for Liberty-Benton (12-3, 6-1) Friday night in Blanchard Valley Conference boys basketball.

Casey Mock led Arcadia (6-10, 2-6) with 11 points.

Pettisville 46, Hilltop 39

PETTISVILLE — Aaron Bruner scored 14 points to lead the Blackbirds (12-4, 8-0 Buckeye Border Conference).

Aaron King scored 11 and David Reyes added 10.

Payne Seintle led Hilltop with 10.

North Central 53, Fayette 41

FAYETTE — Jalen Dancer led North Central with 18 points while Ryan Masters added 16.

Jessie Rodriguez and Trevor Cox each scored 12 for Fayette (11-6, 5-3 BBC).

Clyde 54, Oak Harbor 47

OAK HARBOR — The Fliers outscored the Rockets 21-10 in the third quarter to pull away.

Darek Gray and Zach Warner paced Clyde with 12 points.

A.J. Cecil had 12 points and Gary Haar 10 for Oak Harbor (2-15).

Hopewell-Loudon 50, Fremont St. Joseph 36

BASCOM — Alec Gregg paced the Chieftains (6-3, 10-6 MAL) with nine points.

Jordan Sessler and Zack Yeckley chipped in nine points each for the Crimson Streaks (6-3, 10-7).

Carey 83, North Baltimore 29

CAREY — The Blue Devils were led by Justin Myer with 18 points. Bryce Orians had 13, Drey Cole 12, and Zach Coppler 10.

The Tigers (1-16) were paced by Evan North with nine.

Southeast Michigan

Bedford 71, Monroe 48

MONROE, Mich. -- Jackson Lamb's 20 points and 11 rebounds spurred the Mules in a Southeastern Conference boys basketball game.

Ryan Rightnowar added 15 points and Kenny McFadden 11 for Bedford (11-4, 6-2 SEC).

Al Harris fired in 17 points for Monroe (3-12, 0-8).

Whiteford 66, Blissfield 46

OTTAWA LAKE, Mich. -- Colin Lake pumped in a career-high 32 points for the Bobcats (10-4).

Connor Vandecaveye and Jordan Wilson each had 12 for the Royals (10-4).
