Wauseon edges Bryan, by one stroke, to take NWOAL crown


Trey Rupp shot a 79 to lead Wauseon to the Northwest Ohio Athletic League boys golf championship at Auglaize Golf Club in Defiance.

The Indians edged Bryan 320-321. Brady Rupp and Clay Teft finished with rounds of 80 and Trevor Dominique came through with a round of 81 for Wauseon.

Shea Vogelsong paced Bryan with a round of 76 to finish in a four-way tie for medalist honors with Liberty Center's Tyler Davis and Swanton teammates Collin O'Riordan and Kyle Dockery. Luke Shaffer (77), David Miller (80) and Bailey Martin (88) helped Bryan's cause to finish in second place in the team standings.

Swanton placed third with 323, followed by Archbold 350, Liberty Center 351, Delta 371, Patrick Henry 377, Evergreen 378, and Montpelier 393.
