Free-throw line kind to Findlay girls in win; Clay routs Ross

Findlay 43, Central 41

The host Trojans dominated from the foul line, converting 17 of 25 free throws to 8 of 11 for the Irish. Christina McQueen and Taylor Stanfield each scored 13 points for Findlay (2-0).

Michelle Murnen had 20 points for Central (0-1).

Clay 57, Fremont Ross 36

FREMONT — Morgan Connor scored 19 points, including five 3-pointers to lead Clay to a run-away road victory.

Kayla Schaeffer added 12 points for the Eagles, including two 3-pointers.

Abbi Hasselbach led Fremont Ross with 10 points in a losing effort.

Gibsonburg 47, Woodward 39

The Golden Bears won on the road, with Lyndsey Perales and Danielle Fork each scoring 12 points and Marisa Alvarado following with 10.

K’Shawna Barnett tossed in 17 points for the Polar Bears while Cierra Stamper provided 12.

Lima Sr. 77, St. Ursula 47

LIMA — Stacia Allen led Lima with 24 points while Imara Haynes added 16 and Indiya Benjamin 13.

Megan Burns topped the Arrows with 11 points.

Cardinal Stritch 51, Bowsher 39

Abby Mass had 21 points to lead Cardinal Stritch (1-1) to its first victory.

Maggie Merren scored nine points for the Cardinals. Rachel Marter led Bowsher (0-2) in scoring with 12 points.

Port Clinton 55, Danbury 28

LAKESIDE — Tiffany Kolston paced Port Clinton (3-0) with 14 points, while Maddie Burris and Hope Thorbahn added 10 points apiece.

Megan Stephens and Tori Wright led Danbury (0-2) with eight points each.

Chandler Park Academy 70, Waite 50

Keke Jones scored 15 and Jada Ivy chipped in 13 to lead Chandler Park over host Waite.

Waite (0-2) was paced by Kre’ana Henry and Latesha Craig, who scored 17 and 14 points respectively.

Chandler Park made six 3-pointers, while Waite made just one.

Bedford 47, St. Mary’s CC 44

TEMPERANCE — Bedford trailed by five in overtime, but came back to win in the season opener.

Nicole Rightnowar led the way for the Mules (1-0) with 18 points and Lauren Knauss added 10 points.

Cassie Haut scored 20 to lead Saint Mary’s Central Catholic (0-1) and Kayla Cepo added 15 points.
