Woodward girls fall at last second

Rogers beats defending Division III state champs Africentric

Lima Perry 55, Woodward 54

Leslie Davis of Lima Perry nailed a 3-pointer with 1.4 seconds left to give Perry (1-4) a dramatic home win in girls basketball on Saturday.

Davis scored 16 points on the game and Abby Patterson added 19 for Perry.

K’Shauna Barnett led Woodward (0-6) with 28 points.

Rogers 55, Africentric 48

A 21-10 opening quarter fueled Rogers (2-1) to a home victory over the defending Division III state champion Columbus Africentric.

Freshman Akienreh Johnson led the Rams with 22 points. Keasja Peace added 12 points, and Sasha Dailey scored 11.

Marley Hill poured in 20 points to lead Africentric, while Darianne Seward added 11 points.

Delta 62, Ottawa Hills 26

DELTA — Delta outscored Ottawa Hills 24-5 in the first quarter and never looked back on the way to a non-league win.

Four Panthers scored in double figures. Morgan Mattimore led the way with 16 points, Brigan Wymer scored 15, Victoria Burdo scored 11, and Abbie Harris added 10.

Kelsi Berry was the leading scorer for Ottawa Hills, scoring only five points.

Notre Dame 40, South Bend St. Joe’s 29

Kaayla McIntyre led Notre Dame (4-2) with 14 points in an Eagles home win.

Pierra Floyd and Christy Ohlinger added 10 points each for Notre Dame.

The Eagles’ defense shut down South Bend (Ind.) St. Joe’s, preventing any player from scoring in double figures.

Central Catholic 54, Southview 48

The Irish (3-1) took advantage of a 14-2 third-quarter run to put away the Cougars at Southview.

Jasmine Scott’s 19 points topped Central, with Michelle Murnen adding 11.

Bailey Hejl led Southview (2-2) with 18 points.

Genoa 70, Old Fort 18

OLD FORT — Haley Pickard scored 18 points and Ciara Albright added 15 points to lead Genoa (5-0, 2-0) to a blowout win on the road.

Old Fort fell to 0-5.

Fayette 53, Antwerp 41

FAYETTE — Kaela Seiler had 12 points to lead a trio of players in double-digit scoring as the Eagles won.

Paige Keefer and Taylor Griffiths each added 10 points for Fayette.

Alexis Jones poured in 22 points in a losing effort for Antwerp.
