Gets win in regular-season finale against Genoa

The Fostoria girls basketball team snapped its 43-game losing streak in last Thursday’s regular-season finale when it took a 46-43 victory over Genoa in a Northern Buckeye Conference game.

Jada Hampton, who led Fostoria (1-21, 1-13 NBC) with 17 points, hit two technical free throws with 1:22 remaining in the game to put the Lady Red on top 44-43. Teammate Erica Moore added two more free throws with 7.3 seconds left.

Fostoria’s skid dated back to the 2011 sectional tournament, and it finished 0-21 last season.
