In a span of 48 hours last week, the Cardinal Stritch softball team recorded four no-hitters, including the first three from sophomore left-handed pitcher Drew Fancher.
Last Thursday, Fancher started the 21-inning hitless string with a no-hitter in a 19-4 Toledo Area Athletic Conference win over Toledo Christian. She struck out 12 Eagles batters, but TC managed the four runs thanks to to six Fancher walks and an error on the Cards.
On Friday, Fancher fanned eight batters in a 10-0, six-inning no-hitter in TAAC play against Ottawa Hills. She then added her third consecutive no-no in a 20-1, five-inning win in the first game of a Saturday double-header against Waite.
Stritch freshman right-hander Samantha Huff then capped the hitless run by firing her one no-hitter in a five-inning, 23-0 win over Waite in the second game of the doubleheader.
