My family attends Mud Hens games regularly. We often go out to eat downtown prior to the game, or at the game. It's the single biggest draw for my family to come downtown. We gladly spend money to support the team, the city, and our entertainment.
Part of the appeal of the games, and part of the reason we can visit regularly and also afford to go out to eat, is the current price structure. If it costs more to go, we will likely not come as often, and I will not be able to spend as much on food, souvenirs, or local goods as I do now.
For a family of five, anS8 percent increase adds up quickly, so I say no to the ticket tax. Don't break one of the few things working well downtown. Let the Mud Hens, the Walleye, and the Lucas County Arena run their businesses without additional burdens. We should be grateful for the benefit they bring the city today.
