Thank you for publishing the Nov. 15 editorial “Text alert” and Kirk Walters’ editorial cartoon about how eating while driving increases the chance of an accident.

In my job as a driving instructor, I see too many people driving while distracted. It is way past time that something should be done about it. I can’t begin to tell of the number of near misses my students and I see.

A ban on texting, cell phone use, eating, drinking, and even smoking while driving should be enacted.
