MCO picks chairman of surgery department

Dr. Anthony J. Senagore, currently the Krause-Lieberman Chair in Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, has been named chairman of the Medical College of Ohio's department of surgery.

Dr. Senagore, 46, will be paid $175,000 and is expected to assume his duties at MCO on July 1. He replaces Dr. Edgar Staren, who stepped down last June to take a job in Chicago.

Dr. Senagore previously served the Cleveland Clinic as medical director in the office of medical operations and as associate chief of staff.
