SANDUSKY Would you like to go 70 mph in a circle? How about swinging upside down, 140 feet above the ground?
You can do both at the same time and raise money for the Firelands chapter of the American Red Cross as part of an auction that will determine the first 50 riders on Cedar Point s new thrill ride, maXair. Passengers on the $10 million ride will sit in a giant circle of outward-facing suspended seats.
The 50 highest bidders in the auction, which runs through 8:30 a.m. May 4, will win a seat on maXair for the attraction s first ride May 7, Cedar Point s opening day. The minimum bid is $75.
Besides taking part in the inaugural ride, the winning bidders will receive admission to Cedar Point, breakfast at the park, and a commemorative medallion.
More information on the charity auction is available at www.firelandsredcross.com.
