WASHINGTON - Toledo Children's Hospital is among six such hospitals in Ohio and about 75 nationwide that will save more than $2 million each under an amendment to the federal Deficit Reduction Act signed yesterday by President Bush.
Under the amendment, which was sponsored by U.S. Rep. Paul Gillmor (R., Old Fort), children's hospitals and states that provide outpatient services to low-income children through Medicaid will benefit financially. State Medicaid systems will save nearly $300,000 for each children's hospital in their state.
