Agriculture officials plan sessions on gypsy moth

The Ohio Department of Agriculture has scheduled informational sessions next month on its gypsy moth program for Springfield Township, Sylvania, and Ottawa, Ohio. All the meetings will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Springfield meeting will be Feb. 10 in the township hall, 7617 Angola Rd. The Sylvania meeting will be Feb. 11 in Nederhouser Hall at Olander Park, 6930 Sylvania Ave.

The Ottawa meeting will be in Fire Station 100, 850 North Agner Rd.

Gypsy moths are invasive insects that defoliate trees and shrubs. In their caterpillar stage, they feed on these plants and are especially fond of oaks.
