Adrian man gets year in jail for assault of teenage girl

ADRIAN - A 20-year-old Adrian man charged for the Nov. 17 abduction of his 15-year-old girl|friend was sentenced yesterday to one year in the Lenawee County jail and five years on probation.

Lenawee Circuit Judge Harvey Koselka sentenced Ezequiel Fernandez, Jr., for felonious assault with a dangerous weapon and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct using force or coercion for a separate March 17 offense in|volving the girl.

Fernandez also was ordered to pay $1,250 in court costs and a $60 victims impact fee.

Witnesses told Adrian police that Fernandez went to a party and carried the girl over his shoulder to a pickup truck where another man was waiting. The three were found a short time later in a Madison Township neighborhood.
