A Bedford Township man has been selected to serve as this year's president of the International Institute of Greater Toledo, Inc., Jan Clark Monk, the organization's executive director, said.
Arvind Shah, 62 of Lambertville, was the institute's first vice president last year. He is in his fourth year as a member of the institute's board of directors. Born in India, Mr. Shah moved to Toledo in 1968, was naturalized as an American citizen in 1976, and now is a retired vice president and office manager for SSOE of Toledo.
Mr. Shah has been a resident of Bedford Township for more than 25 years, and he has served on the Bedford Township planning commission for five years. He said he believes that the International Institute, funded in part by the United Way, promotes Toledo's ethnic diversity.
Other International Institute officers for 2001 are: Carlo Gibellato, first vice president; Michel Nouafo, second vice president; Duane Haas, treasurer; Anneliese Green, assistant treasurer, and R. J. Snyder, recording secretary.
