Lenawee County blaze destroys farm buildings

HUDSON, Mich. - Six buildings and three silos were destroyed by fire yesterday at a dairy farm in Lenawee County.

Hudson firefighters were called at 5:03 a.m. to the Gary Middleton farm on Lowe Road in Hudson Township. Despite help from the Addison, Clayton, Morenci, Pittsford, and Waldron fire departments, they were unable to stop flames from consuming the buildings and silos.

No one was hurt. Damage was reported at $500,000. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Michigan state police fire marshal's staff.

Mr. Middleton told Hudson fire officials that the burned structures were covered by insurance and that he would rebuild.
