HILLSDALE — Jason Williams of Hillsdale County was selected as the first Michigan Farm Bureau Excellence in Agriculture Award winner.
Mr. Williams, 28, is familiar with providing financial services to farmers through his past employment at GreenStone Farm Credit Services and his current position with Fifth Third bank. As a credit analyst and lender, he concentrates on financial management products, credit guidance, and succession planning.
The award is designed to recognize active young farmers who do not derive the majority of their income from an owned agricultural operation.
Mr. Williams is among five Michigan Farm Bureau young farmers who received state recognition Dec. 5 at the 83rd Michigan Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Acme near Traverse City.
