UM coach suspends Novak for OSU game foul

ANN ARBOR, Mich. Michigan guard Zack Novak will be suspended one game for his flagrant foul and subsequent ejection in this week s loss to Ohio State.

Michigan athletic officials announced Friday that coach John Beilein suspended Novak. The freshman will not be available for Saturday s game at Purdue.

Novak elbowed Ohio State s P.J. Hill in the face late in the Buckeyes 72-54 victory Wednesday.

Beilein called the incident "unacceptable."

Novak is averaging 6.7 points per game for the Wolverines, who are 14-7 overall and 4-5 in the Big Ten.

Novak, from Chesterton, Ind., has started nine games.
