UM's Rodriguez to speak at NFF event

University of Michigan football coach Rich Rodriguez will be the featured speaker at Monday's National Football Foundation Toledo Wistert Chapter Scholar Athlete Awards dinner.

The event, which is taking place at the Pinnacle in Maumee, will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $45, and for an additional $30 one can attend a special reception with Rodriguez prior to the dinner. To order tickets, call Team Sports at 419-865-8326.

Thirty area high school senior football players will be honored. They are: Michael Ackerman, Clay; Spencer Bryant, Nico Caponi and Kyle Finn, Sandusky Perkins; Chase Clark and Nathan Shaffer, Hilltop; Eric Cogan, Summerfield; Mason Cole, Bedford; Zach Crawford and Eric Schaible, Findlay; Patrick Dyer, St. Francis de Sales; Jacob Goatley, Maumee; James Hall, Southview; David Hector, Cory-Rawson; Seth Hoffman, Eastwood; Brandon Hummer, Napoleon; Daniel Jones, Airport; Brian Laubenthal, Ottawa-Glandorf; Lucas Logan , Sand Creek; Michael Mallernee, Oak Harbor; John Miller, Toledo Christian; Joe Missler, Whitmer; Jason Morter, Mohawk; Alex Nofziger, Defiance; Brett Pasche, Liberty Benton; Jacob Schreuder and Scott Traver, Genoa; Trey Westrick, Archbold; Phillip Wingate, Whiteford, and Nathan Yoder, Fairview.
