Lauer-looks earn Toledoan visit to NBC

For years, friends and even strangers have remarked on the resemblance of Tony Esposito of Toledo to Matt Lauer of NBC's Today. And now, the entire country will have a chance to see it, too.

The 37-year-old plumbing and heating installer/repairman will appear today during a celebrity look-alike segment on Live with Regis and Kelly. The program airs locally at 9 a.m. on WTVG-TV, Channel 13.

Joanie Esposito sent her husband's photos to the show, and its representative called the Toledo man last Tuesday.

"I was trying to sound casual, not too excited, but inside, my heart's pounding, like, 300 beats a second," Esposito said.

Other talk-show host look-alikes featured on Live with Regis and Kelly include Conan O'Brian, Jay Leno, Martha Stewart, Montel Williams, and Al Roker, said show spokeswoman Debbie Dolins. Last week's celebrity doubles included the cast of Friends, Mel Gibson, Howard Stern, Ozzie Osbourne, Pamela Anderson, and Kid Rock.
