Indy's hot start too much for Mud Hens

INDIANAPOLIS - The Toledo Mud Hens fell behind early in a 9-6 road loss to the Indianapolis Indians yesterday.

Indianapolis' Neil Walker led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run. The Indians tacked three more runs in the first three innings to take a 5-0 lead.

In the fourth, the Mud Hens got on the board after Jeff Larish hit a double and then score on Jeff Frazier's hit to shallow center field.

Indianapolis added to its lead on a two-run homer by Jonathan Van Every in the fourth, but the Hens countered with two in the fifth after Will Rhymes hit an RBI triple, scoring Danny Worth, and then scored himself on a Brennan Boesch single.

Indianapolis added two more runs in the sixth on a bases loaded single by Pedro Alvarez to extend its lead to 9-3.

Toledo cut into the lead in the seventh after Casper Wells hit a two-run home run. Then, in the eighth, Max Leon walked and then scored on a single by Rhymes.
