The Mud Hens scored four times in the bottom of the ninth to pull out a 5-2 win over Syracuse at Fifth Third Field today.
Matt Young’s RBI single with two outs in the ninth tied the game, and pinch-hitter Brad Eldred slammed a three-run homer to snap a four-game losing streak.
The rally made a winner of reliever Chris Bootcheck (1-1), who came on in the ninth after Toledo starter Casey Crosby allowed just five hits and two runs while fanning six in the first eight innings.
The two teams will meet again at Fifth Third Field in a pair of morning games Monday and Tuesday, with first pitch both days at 10:30 a.m.
