INDIANAPOLIS — Toledo left 10 runners on base and were 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position in Sunday’s 8-2 loss to Indianapolis.

It was the third loss to the Indians in a row, dropping Toledo to 10-28 this season.

Indians right-hander Brandon Cumpton hurled his team-high fourth quality start, while left fielder Brett Carroll smashed a two-run shot to send Indianapolis to the win.

Hens starter Casey Crosby lasted just 4 2/3 innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and four walks.

Toledo's offensive highlight came from catcher Ramon Cabrera, who belted his first homer for the Hens in the fourth inning, making the score 2-1 Indians.

Both clubs traded runs over the next two frames, beginning with Jerry Sands crushing a one-out double in the bottom of the fourth and later scoring on a single to left from Ivan DeJesus to make it 3-1. The Hens answered in the next frame on an RBI groundout from Avisail Garcia, but Indianapolis quickly regained the lead as Jared Goedert knocked a two-out RBI double to make the score 4-2.

Indy relievers Ryan Reid and Jared Hughes combined to work three shutout frames and slam the door, while the Indians tacked on four more runs in the bottom of the eighth, beginning with Brett Carroll’s two-run homer to left.
