Improv troupe back on stage

The Around the Bend Players, Toledo's original improvisational comedy troupe, returns to Bayside Boardwalk in Oregon to perform dinner and comedy theater every Friday, starting this week. Dinner begins at 7 p.m., followed by the show. Tickets are $24.95. Information: 419-693-6950 or 419-691-3946.

The Toledo Repertoire Theatre presents Driving Miss Daisy by Alfred Uhry Friday through Jan. 31 in its theater at 16 Tenth St. Performances will be 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. Sundays. Winterfest Number 14 - Bluegrass in Super Class is scheduled this weekend in the Holiday Inn French Quarter on U.S. 20 in Perrysburg. Music begins at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Entertainers for both days will be the Sullivan Family, Marcus & Megan The Mullins Family, and Robert White & the Candy Mountain Express. Performers on Friday include Dean Osborne & Eastbound, David Parmley & Continental Divide, Lilly Mae & the Dixie Gospelairs, and David Davis & the Warrior River Boys.

Saturday will feature Ernie Thacker and Route 23, Nitro Hill, and Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers. Daily tickets are $26 at the door. Information: 419-726-5089.

Adams Township, a five-piece jazz, fun, fusion band based in Atlanta, will perform at 9 tonight in Mickey Finn's Pub, 602 Lagrange St. The Juke Joint Johnnies will take the stage at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Bobby May & the Dry Bones Revival will play at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, the Black Swamp Blues Society hosts its annual sendoff party for the winners of this year's Battle of the Bands, featuring Johnny Reed & the Houserockers and Dooley Wilson performing with other local blues musicians.
