Bands to do battle at Owens

Several local musical groups will compete tomorrow night in the third annual Battle of the Bands contest hosted by Owens Community College

On the roster: Kalabo Krew, DraMatique & BenFlowz, CatchPole, Recoil 5, Amanna 18, and Hotdog Pie. Opening will be the Terrance Jones Project. During their 20-minute sets, the bands will perform a range of musical styles including rock and rhythm and blues.

The grand prize is $400. The winner will also have one song played on WIOT-FM (104.7) and be interviewed on the air.

The event starts at 7 p.m. in Owens' Student Health and Activities Center, 30335 Oregon Rd. Admission is free.
