The supporting cast of the popular Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central will make its way to Toledo tonight for a comedy showcase, with Charlie Murphy headlining the act.
Murphy - brother of actor Eddie Murphy - along with Donnell Rawlings and Bill Burr, best known as "Charlie Murphaaayy," "Ashy Larry," and "The Deadpan Sports Commentator" perform at 8 p.m. at the Valentine Theatre, 400 North Superior St.
Dave Chappelle will not be present for the local "All-Star" lineup, but Murphy, Rawlings, and Burr are making their own names in the entertainment business. Murphy has been seen in popular movies such as Mo Better Blues, Jungle Fever, Players Club, and Harlem Nights. Rawlings appears in the new film Spider-Man 2 and is host of Spike TV's Late Night. Burr boasts his own Comedy Central special titled "Comedy Central Presents."
"The Dave Chappelle Show All-Stars," starring Charlie Murphy, Donnell Rawlings, and Bill Burr of Chappelle's Show on Comedy Central, will be staged at 8 tonight at the Valentine Theatre, 400 North Superior St. Tickets, $25, are available at the box office. Information: 419-242-2787. A post-show "Meet and Greet" will be held at The Blueprint, Monroe and 20th streets, co-presenter of the show's Toledo stopover.
