Aeolus Fest June 2-11

The Toledo Symphony announces its Aeolus 2005 Festival, a celebration of contemporary music performed at six locations June 2 through June 11.

At 8 p.m. June 2, Blue Dahlia presents Buster Keaton s The General at the Maumee Indoor Theatre, on Conant Street at the Anthony Wayne Trail. The suggested donation is $5.

Aeolus Night at the Happy Badger, 55 South Reynolds Rd., at 7 p.m. June 3.will examine the intersections of classical music, jazz, and rock. The suggested donation is $5.

A free Bright Sheng 50th Birthday Tribute takes place at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1 Trinity Plaza, at 7:30 p.m. on June 4.The program features the Dietz Quintet, Sheng Tibetan Dance, Sheng Two Poems, and the Adams Chamber Symphony.

Maria Millar, who blends original compositions, improvisation, dance, singing, and violin, returns to the Collingwood Arts Center, 2413 Collingwood Blvd., at 7 p.m. June 5. The suggested donation is $10.

The Aeolus Chamber Concert, featuring the Parkwood Players and the Toledo Symphony String Quartet, will perform a free concert at the University of Toledo Recital Hall, 2801 West Bancroft St., at 8 p.m. June 8.

The free Aeolus Gala event will be held at Corpus Christi University Parish, 2955 Dorr St. at 7 p.m. June 11. For information on all of the Aeolus events call 419-509-1639.

The Echoes of Poland Folk Song and Dance Ensemble presents its 37th Annual Spring Concert at the Ohio Theatre, 3114 Lagrange St., at 3 p.m. on June 5.

Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door and are $7 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for children. Information: 419-531-8658.

The North Coast Concert Band will present a free concert in Hedges Boyer Park, Tiffin, at 7:30 p.m. June 12.
