Local rock band celebrates new CD

Toledo rock band Three-Headed Monster will hold a CD-release party tonight at Mickey Finn's Pub to celebrate its five-song self-titled disc.

The self-released effort was recorded at the four-member band's studio. The single "Wanting To Be the One" was a finalist in the February VH1 Song of the Year competition.

Three-Headed Monster - Matthew Carp (lead vocals/guitar), Barrett Daniels (bass), Robert Schlender (lead guitar), and Collin Oldham (drums) - has been together for four years, honing its catchy, guitar-centered hard rock sound.

On June 3, it will perform in the regional semifinals of the Emergenza international band competition at the Magic Stick in Detroit.

Three-Headed Monster holds a CD-release party at 10 tonight in Mickey Finn's Pub, 602 Lagrange St. The Toledo band Fine Piece of Furniture also will perform. Admission is $4.
