Mellencamp and Los Lobos due at SeaGate

A Halloween Party at the Eeerie Street Market takes place from 7 p.m. to midnight Oct. 26 in the Civic Center Promenade, 237 South Erie St. Partygoers will be entertained by Johnny Rocker and the Hit Men. New Works Writers Series partners with Cafe in the Park to present The Deacon's Awakening by Willis Richardson at noon Oct. 31 in the Park Lane Hotel, 142 23rd St. Set in the 1920s, the play depicts a mother and daughter determined to take advantage of the Nineteenth Amendment granting women the right to vote. Culture Clash Records, 3301 West Central Ave., hosts "Breakfast with the Band," an in-store event at noon Saturday. Featured will be acoustic sets from June, Just Surrender, and Farewell.
