The stage will be mighty crowded Friday night at Manhattan's Union Square Room for JT Nero's CD release party.
Joining JT, aka Jeremy Lindsay, a Toledo-area native who also fronts the Chicago band JT and the Clouds, will be Michelle McGrath, who was a member of the The Rivermen and the Capital Sun Rays, both local bands that featured her and Lindsay. Also performing for the celebration of the release of "Mountains/Forests" will be Allison Russell from the Americana band Po Girl, who often tours with Lindsay.
The new disc is a rustic, mostly acoustic release with a back-porch feel that's distinct from the more soul-oriented JT and the Clouds recordings. Lindsay and McGrath haven't performed live together since they left Toledo years ago for San Francisco and their harmonies are featured on "Mountains/Forests."
Manhattan's is at 1516 Adams St. Tickets are $12 in advance and can be purchased at Manhattan's, and they are $15 at the door. Seating is limited. Music starts at 8 p.m.
