Grammy nominees Jeff and Sheri Easter will bring their hope-inspiring gospel music to the residents of Maumee on July 6.
The singers blend the music of their North Carolina and Georgia religious roots into a unique Southern sound that celebrates love, family, and God.
"Jeff and I both appreciate the heritage of gospel music we have in our respective families, and we choose to honor that legacy," Mrs. Easter said in a news release.
After Mrs. Easter's 2008 battle with breast cancer, the couple began their first "Paint Your Town Pink" campaign last October and raised awareness for breast cancer in each city they toured during the month.
"I am more assured today after 3 1/2 years as a survivor, that God has a purpose for my life to encourage the lives of others through our music," Mrs. Easter said. "I've celebrated with other friends who have heard the words 'cancer free,' and I've mourned the loss of those who battled, then rested in the arms of Jesus."
The group, which includes drummer Kyle Calloway, has been honored several times, including two Grammy nominations, six GMA Dove Awards, and 15 Singing News Fan Awards.
The Easters' three children, Madison, Morgan, and Maura, contribute vocals, music, and comedy to each show.
The Easters are to perform Friday at 7 p.m. at the Heritage Church of God at 3520 Strayer Rd. in Maumee. Tickets are $10 at the door.
