The Owens College Community Band will be joined by Toledo School for the Arts Studio Winds in a free concert at 2:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the Theater of the Center for Fine and Performing Arts on Owens’ Perrysburg Township campus.
The TSA woodwind and brass players will be featured in “American Salute,” “New York: 1927,” and “Moravian Dance.”
Concert-goers also will hear selections from Broadway to Americana to pop culture, including songs from Jersey Boys, Star Trek, marches by John Philip Sousa and Karl King, Glenn Miller’s “In the Mood,” and the western “Southwest Saga.”
Conductors will be Jay Welnec, school for the arts director; Fred Dais, Owens Concert Band conductor, and Lt. Col. Robert Krichbaum, retired commander of the 555th Air Force Band.
