Fresh off a European tour with The Cure, for whom he is a guitarist, Reeves Gabrels will bring his trio, His Imaginary Friends, to the Village Idiot for a special show tonight.
The Nashville-based Gabrels, who played in Tin Machine and collaborated with David Bowie, is doing only a few club dates in the United States before returning to Europe to record with The Cure. His style of guitar is inventive and experimental, which explains why musical adventurers such as Bowie so frequently utilize his services.
Toledo band The Zimmerman Twins, will open the show. The Village Idiot is at 309 Conant St. in Maumee and tickets are $6 at the door. Music starts at 7:30 p.m.
