Address: 29 S. Monroe Street, Monroe
Origin of your name: When we were first discussing putting all the elements together for this great new place, we wanted to refer to my involvement -- Alexander Zonjic -- as a musician. We want people to have the expectation of going into a studio environment to listen to world class music. Add to that, the Cafe, that has already been serving terrific food during the day and will now offer a delicious dinner menu with a full bar.
What makes your place unique: We have a beautiful new, intimate room with a wonderful ambiance, great views on to the street and a state-of-the-art stage. We plan to offer world class music every Friday and Saturday night with a delicious dinner menu and full bar. In addition there are video walls featuring eScapes, the hybrid television/radio network that presents high-definition videos of images set to adult contemporary music.
What kind of entertainment do you feature: We are dedicated to a continuous program of quality music of all kinds, not only jazz. That's why we refer to it as a music club not a jazz club. Jazz flutist Alexander Zonjic and his band will play every Friday and Saturday night through the end of the year. Then we will broaden the range of music to include local, regional, and national jazz, blues, singer/songwriter and instrumental performers. We are also interested in getting into classical. The focus will always be on listening to the artist.
Clientele: Our clientele ranges from age 35 up.
Upcoming events: Zonjic and his band will play every Friday and Saturday with shows at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. through the end of the year. Beginning in January a new roster of guest artists will play at the Studio Z Cafe and Listening Room.
Web site: We are on Facebook and a Web site is being developed. You can also go to zonjic.com.
