Toledo branch NAACP branch president WilliAnn Moore will join seven other Toledoans in New Orleans for the national NAACP convention July 7-13, Mrs. Moore said at the organization's general meeting last night at the Hamilton Building.
She said the national organization will present local chapters with a national five-year strategic plan. Mrs. Moore said each local chapter will develop its own five-year plan designed specific for its area.
She said the Toledo local was recognized as one of the top branches in the district and the student branch one of the tops in the district as well.
Mrs. Moore said Toledo branch student president Jared Cook will participate in the NAACP national student award competition July 4-6, called the Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics and stay over to represent Toledo youth during the regular national convention.
