Bankrupt airline seeks cuts of retiree benefits
NEW YORK — American Airlines and its parent company, AMR Corp., filed suit Friday to stop providing health care and life insurance benefits to retirees.
The action, part of their bankruptcy case in federal court, asks the court to approve an end to the benefits as a way to cut costs.
